Magnus - Singing Man

Magnus is a project of famous names in Belgian music: producer CJ Bolland, and dEUS frontman Tom Barman. They made their debut in 2004 and after some years of not too much activity they now release a new single. And for "Singing Man" the vocalist sounds familiar; they have a well known voice as singing man: Thomas Smith, the leadsinger in some band called Editors.

Marc Broussard - Hurricane Heart

Marc Broussard came to my attention with the excellent 'S.O.S.' album. That was 2007 and his biggest succes in the US album charts. To be honest, I kind of lost him after since then. Now he's on the verge of releasing his sixth album, 'A Life Worth Living' and the first single will be "Hurricane Heart". Oh, and "Shine" got a video as well. 'A Life Worth Living' will be released at the end of July.

Black Bottle Riot - We'll Be Rolling

This week Black Bottle Riot played as a guest at the ZZ Top show in Amsterdam. And they liked it. Earlier this month they also released a new video from their 'Soul In Exile' album. The "We'll Be Rolling" video is built up out of lots of live footage.

The Kevin Costners - Lunatics

The Kevin Costners waited for years to follow up their well received debut album 'Come On In'. But they did, and they named the album 'Pick Up The Parts'. The original three man band was expanded to five and a video was released.

"Lunatics" is made up out of a lot of funny, weird, lunatic pictures. Pleasure to watch.

Rats on Rafts - Powder Monkey

Rats On Rafts have released a raw and pure single and a video of the same style. The Rotterdam newwave/ punk band made it sound lofi and raw and the video looks like it went through some kind of grinder. Say no to autotune, here's the "Powder Monkey"!

Love Of The Week June 21st: Kings Of Leon - Don't Matter

Like most blogs, websites, radiostations, etc, For The Love Of Music also has it's song of the week. It's called Love Of The Week and will enter our Top40 the next week, or, sometimes already charted a couple of weeks.

This week no new exiting band or first single off the new album. No. This week a band I've loved for years now with single #5 I think from their 2013 album 'Mechanical Bull'. And "Don't Matter" is a good song, but if the rumour is true, Kings Of Leon might be contender for next weeks disc as well since Wikipedia says "Family Tree" has also been released as a single this week. For now "Don't Matter" is our Love Of The Week for the week starting june 21st.

The Pretty Reckless - Messed Up World (F'd Up World)

The Pretty Reckless, the Taylor Momsen fronted alternative rockband from New York released their second album 'Going To Hell' this March. Singer/ actress/ only remaining original member Momsen and her bandmates made a bikinigirl filled video for "Messed Up World (F'd Up World)", the third single off the album. Nice one to watch, with nice 'backgroundmusic'

Love Of The Week June 14th: Archie Bronson Outfit - Two Doves On A Lake

Like most blogs, websites, radiostations, etc, For The Love Of Music also has it's song of the week. It's called Love Of The Week and will enter our Top40 the next week, or, sometimes already charted a couple of weeks.

Due to a week without internet and hardly any radio, the choice for this week is a bit older and has been on the substitues bench for a while. But it's a good song anyway! Like many bands in England Archie Bronson Outfit operate from London, and this threesome have released their fourth album 'Wild Crush' last month. Their new single "Two Doves On A Lake" off the album is for the week starting june 14th our Love Of The Week.

alt-J - Hunger Of The Pine

A new alt- J song is reason for an internet buzz and radiostations fighting eachother off to have the song aired and tell their listeners they're the first to do so. So for everyone living under that rock without internet or radio: alt- J have releaswed the official audio for the new song "Hunger Of The Pine". Listen it here. Oh, wait, you don't have internet...

Love Of The Week June 7th: Fixkes - Jodie Foster

Like most blogs, websites, radiostations, etc, For The Love Of Music also has it's song of the week. It's called Love Of The Week and will enter our Top40 the next week, or, sometimes already charted a couple of weeks.

Last week our promodisc went to someone from the south of The Netherlands; this week move a bit westward to Stabroek, Belgium (near Antwerp). In 2007 the band Fixkes made a succesfull debut on the Excelsior label with their single "'Kvraagtaan". Indeed, they sing in Flemish (Belgian Dutch). In Belgium it became the biggest selling single of the year. September 2014 will see the release of a new album and "Jodie Foster", their new single off the album is for the week starting june 7th our Love Of The Week.

Love Of The Week may 31st: Bo Saris - She's On Fire

Like most blogs, websites, radiostations, etc, For The Love Of Music also has it's song of the week. It's called Love Of The Week and will enter our Top40 the next week, or, sometimes already charted a couple of weeks.

Dutch soul singer- songwriter Bo Saris (real name: Boris Titulaer) got famous in The Netherlands after winning the second edition of tv- talentshow Idols some 10 years ago. After a short tv- idol chartcareer he got into doing his own thing. In 2012 he released the 'She's On Fire EP', vinyl only. Now, spring 2014, his album 'Gold' is released and the title track of the EP is being promoted as his new single, with a video. For the week starting May 31st this song was our Love Of The Week.
